Our company was first established by Mr. John Barry Brown as CREST TOOL SUPPLIES in 1976. CREST or CREST-ASTEG, as the company was later named, focused it's business activities on importing engineer's tools, machine tools and special equipment to satisfy the then thriving Australian manufacturing industry. With a rapidly growing list of agencies, ASTEG quickly became Australia's premier supplier to the engineering sector.

From 1978 - 1985, ASTEG introduced many products into Australia for the first time. Some of those products included; ISCAR'S Parting Tool System, MASTERCAM'S Cad Cam Software, SONY'S Digital Machine Readouts & the FILTERMIST Filtration System. The company, at this time, were also supplying all types of standard and special cutting tools.

In the same period the company ALLTOOLS was established to work in parallel with ASTEG's Engineering Supply Division. ALLTOOLS was established to offer more commonly used industrial products to builders and other trades people.

By the mid 80's, annual turnover had exceeded $10 Million Australian dollars and the company had established a wide customer base consisting of engineers, toolmakers and general manufacturers. It was also at this time that the company became a premier supplier to the Australian Education Department. ASTEG NSW held various Government contracts which saw the company supply over $1 Million Australian dollars in Heidenhain Digital Machine Readouts to TAFE Colleges. Further success came by supplying and installing over 400 PC based Training Lathes & Milling Machines to secondary schools across the state of New South Wales. It was ASTEG'S CNC program which helped many of today's CNC operators learn their basic skills.

By 1988, the company had introduced an exclusive range of measuring tools and calibration devices to our range, which helped many of our clients conform to ISO standards. The company, by then, had acquired sole agency agreements with the MicroVu Corporation, Bowers Metrolology, Trimos S.A. and Sylvac S.A. Today our company represents and distributes nearly every major brand of measuring instrument while still maintaining our original agencies. Our company today has established direct access to nearly all product lines which assures that our pricing remains competitive. Our continued focus on Metrology offers our clients multiple choices when selecting the correct instrument or measuring machine.

After the retirement of Mr. John Barry Brown in 1997, the company was purchased in full by Mr. Rock D'Cruz & Mr. Daryl Murray both of whom had worked within the original company for a combined period of 35 years. Renamed ASTEG SALES PTY LTD in July 1997 our global & domestic supply network remains primarily the same which has allowed us to retain the capacity to supply most of the products as supplied by CREST-ASTEG.

Today the company continues to operate with the three core divisions. ENGINEERS TOOLS & INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES - MACHINE TOOLS & ACCESSORIES - MEASURING & TEST EQUIPMENT.

Our primary goal is to offer our customers quality products which best suit their specific applications and their budgets. We carry with us 25 years of experience and we supply a wide range of products that are used in most every manufacturing venture.
